Wool Felt Polishing Wheels

They are used for buffing and polishing with or without cutting agents and lubricants. We offer the finest quality USA made wheels, accurately balanced, and made from selected long fiber wool with no resins or synthetic fibers. Hardness and density are achieved through controlled fulling and hydraulic pressing.

Soft - for rounded surfaces with minimal pressure.
           (mostly used on glass, granite, and marble)

Medium - for both rounded and flat surfaces for most industrial
            applications, such as metal, used in conjunction with cutting
            compounds.

Hard - for flat surfaces or where the wheel is shaped to the contour
          of the part.This density is used for Lapidary
          or Jewelry applications.

Rock Hard - for applications requiring maximum cutting pressure
          and critical contours and wheel shaping.

Maximum Safe RPM's for a 1" face wheel are as follows:
           6" Diameter Medium - 4300 RPM
           8" Diameter Medium - 3200 RPM
        10" Diameter Medium - 2800 RPM
    Harder wheels allow for faster maximum RPM's.
    Softer wheels have reduced maximum RPM's.

 We also sell imported wool felt wheels at an economic price.  Their Rockhard coresponds to a USA hard,  Their Hard is about equivalent to the density of a Medium USA wheel.
